Amazon Review: Midwest Book Review   “In 1994 seven boys saw the giant ropen flying over  a crater take: in 2004 an American foresnsic  videographer interviewed them and gained more  details of a creature with a wingspan longer than a  village hut. Could a living pterosaur elude scientists  and discovery for decades? A legal videographer  examines the possibilities, sightings, and realities in  SEARCHNG FOR ROPENS: LIVING PTEROSAURS IN  PAPUA NEW GUINEA.” (Diane C. Yet one  remnant of that bigotry has continued to haunt us,  preventing many Westerners from learning from dark-  skinned natives in remote countries.   “With the writings of Isaac Newton, who could dispute  the rise of Western science in a world long mired in  superstition? Yet one remnant of bigotry against one  of Newton’s beliefs has continued to haunt us,  preventing many Westerners from learning from those  who believe the Bible true, as did Newton.  “Accolades for African Americans or for Newton are  found in other books, not here. These pages extol  discoveries by a few light-skinned Americans whose  belief in the Bible led them to interview eyewitnesses  of apparent living pterosaurs, especially the discovery  of high credibility in testimonies of eyewitnesses,  many of whom are dark-skinned natives in a remote  country. “Believe what you will about Darwin’s writings on the  common descent of all life on earth. But these pages  extol the credibility of natives whom Darwin would  have thought less evolved than himself, natives some  Westerners consider superstitious and unworthy of  belief when their testimonies appear to contradict the  extinction assumptions that support Darwin’s ideas.  Believe what you will about Darwin, but most native  and Western eyewitnesses that we have interviewed  have been found credible.”   Including expeditions in Papua New Guinea: searches for giant Rhamphorhynchoid pterosaurs  Title page of this edition of the book: Second Edition of Cryptozoology Book: Read also “Live Pterosaurs in America,” second edition, also written by Jonathan Whitcomb Another Cryptozoology Book Searching for Dragons Cryptozoology Book The author, Jonathan Whitcomb, explored  Umboi Island, Papua New Guinea, in 2004,  and interviewed many credible natives  who had seen the bioluminescent ropen.  Paul Nation, of Texas, has probably explored in Papua New Guinea more than any other cryptozoologist who has searched for modern living pterosaurs or ropens. He is the first American to have brought back signifi- cant physical evidence for their existence. Mount Bel, Umboi Island, just hours after a ropen was observed flying there in 2004. Garth Guessman explored in Papua New Guinea twice, searching for modern living pterosaurs. His first search was with David Woetzel, in 2004, on Umboi Island, a few weeks after Whitcomb’s expedition on that island.
